Born May 14th, 1959, Craig will forever be remembered as having the fighting spirit of a panther and the loving nature of a mountain blue bird. He was a devoted family man that would do anything for his girls.
Craig was a man of the outdoors and a natural around water. An avid fisherman, he always had patience to help a child catch their first keeper. He accumulated so many friends throughout his life because he was always unapologetically and beautifully himself. Craig worked as a Longshoreman for 23 years with ILA Local 269, making many loyal friends who supported him and his family to the very end.
Craig didn't censor his opinions or words. He didn't make himself small to please others and he stood proud of who he was. These were only some of his greatest attributes. A rugged exterior with a warm heart; Craig was someone special who could never be replaced.
Forever loved by his wife of 28 years, Joyce; mother Jean Vemb; daughters Katie (Ryan), Chelsea, and Tristen; granddaughters Eva and Halle; brothers Ricky (Angela), Leo, and Charles; sisters Rhonda and Laila; and many nieces and nephews. Craig was the son of the late Flemming “Curly” Vemb.
Our family would like to thank Craig's palliative care nurse, Monica, Dr. Ann Marie Krueger-Naug, and the many VON nurses and technicians he encountered during his battle.
In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the IWK. For information on Craig's celebration of life please contact Joyce or his daughters.
