At age 86, Don Pritchard passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2014 at home after a period of failing health. Born in Edmonton Alberta, he was the son of the late Angus and Ida Pritchard. Don was a veteran of the Second World War, having joined the Artillery as a Boy Soldier. He spent the bulk of his career in Correctional Services throughout western Canada, retiring to Halifax in 1976. Don is survived by his six children; Ross (Marion), Lois (Tommy), Janet, Norma (Peter), Donnie (Brenda) and Ruth, nine grandchildren; Jason, Pam, Ryan, Erin, Gus, Ben, Ian, Eric and Leah, two great-grandchildren; Jack and Glace, sister Marion (Lou) and several nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife Irene, brother Claude and son-in-law Randy.
Cremation has taken place and the family will have a private service at a later date. A very special thank you to the staff of Melville Lodge for the kind and tender care they provided our Father.
