

Age 71 of Lower Sackville, passed away in the VG site, QEII, on March 2, 2014. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Genevieve Stewart.
Donna was a caregiver most of her life in and out of her home. She owned and operated Donna’s Kitchen in Shelburne, N.S. She enjoyed spending time with her family; especially, her grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Martin (Patti) Shelburne and Tom, Fort McMurray; daughters, Catherine (David) MacKenzie, Shelburne; Maggie (Paul) Kearley, Lower Sackville; brothers, Jimmy (Joan) Stewart; Robert, (Barb) Stewart; Edward Stewart; Gillis Stewart; sisters, Jean (Neil) Knutson; Catherine (John) Elyk; Sharon Stewart, Marguerite Wheeler, Mary Ellen (Leo) Doucet; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Gayla Kiley.
Donna was predeceased by Ed Kiley, siblings, Donald, Angus, Natalie; brothers-in-law, Bill and Joe.
Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street on Wednesday, March 5.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donna may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, or to the Palliative Care Unit, VG site, QEII.
