The family of Doris Maude Roe announce her passing on June 11, 2021 at Parkstone Enhanced Care in Halifax. She died peacefully with her son by her side. She was 93 years old.
Doris was the youngest and last surviving member of her immediate family. Born on November 24, 1927 in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ida (Graves) Cooley. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Dalhousie University where she met her future husband, David Roe. Together they raised two sons Harold and Eric. She was a long serving volunteer at the IWK, a devoted member of Saint Andrew’s United Church and kept active for many years with a jewellery repair business. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband, son, Harold, sister Muriel, and brothers Lloyd and Ralph. She is survived by her son, Eric, grandsons Bryan and David, nieces Jean Cooley, Carole Cooley and nephew Stephen Cooley.
She will always be remembered for her unconditional love, kindness to all, a willingness to forgive and enduring optimism.
