It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Gerri (Geraldine) Mary Gorman. Gerri passed away at home on Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 surrounded by her family. Gerri was born on April 3rd, 1958 in the Halifax Infirmary to Frank and Mary (Whalen) Gorman. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas School until grade 9 and then graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. She continued her studies at Mount Saint Vincent University to learn to become a legal secretary and enjoyed 20 years working at Stewart and McKelvey in Halifax. Following her career at Stewart and McKelvey, she enjoyed working at the Windsor Street Sobeys in Halifax. Gerri enjoyed many happy summers in Cape Breton with friends and aunts, uncles and cousins (Whalen and Tobin) and in Summerside, PEI with her cousin Karen (Tobin) Viva. All whom spent time with Gerri’s could feel her passion for people and love of life. She enjoyed exploring the world, baking treats, having fun at the beach, skating, and spending time with her loved ones. Gerri had a deep and special relationship with her nephews and nieces and blessed them with many treasured memories. Gerri is predeceased by her grandparents, Matthew Whalen and Sarabelle (Young) Tobin, William and Hazel (Hodges) Gorman, and amazing mother, Mary (Whalen) Gorman.
