PARRIS, Gordon Milton (Manny), 79, of Halifax, passed away March 22, 2012 in the QE11 Halifax Infirmary Site, surrounded by his family. Born in Africville, he was the son of the late James and Ada Parris.
Manny retired from CFB Shearwater in 1995. In 1987, Manny received the Gold Cap Award From CFB Shearwater in recognition of his correct safety practices.
He is survived by his son, Leonard Carvery (June); grandchildren, Leonard and Martena; sisters, Bertha Mantley, Pauline Parris, Leona Parris, Helena Parris, Genevieve Parris; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters. Dora Dixon, Kathlene Parris, Dolores Fowler, Priscilla Parris; brother Ernest.
Special thanks to the staff at the QE11 Infirmary, 6.2 and 6.4 CCU, for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to Manny.
Service to take place at Cornwallis Baptist Church, Tuesday, March 27th at 1PM. Interment to take place at a later date.
