It is with profound sorrow that the family of Heather Doreen Pate,80, of Halifax, announce her passing at home, on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Born in Quebec, she was the eldest daughter of the late Ar†hur and Mabel [Falkenham] Saxby.
Heather is survived by her loving husband Ken and her sisters Susan [George] MacKay of New Glasgow,Wendy Ellis / David Shortliffe of Dayspring, Diana Saxby / Blair Murphy of Fletcher's Lake, Teena May / Micheal Hatcher of Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews.
Heather is predeceased by her brother Hewat Saxby and wife Cynthia as well as her brother in law Bruce Ellis.
Heather dedicated her 30 year career caring for others at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax. Heather served as head nurse in Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit for many of those years.
There will be no formal funeral or visitation per Heather's wishes. A private memorial time by Ken will take place after the cremation.
