

Dauphinee, Helen Mary, 96, of Halifax passed away on January 11, 2011 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Edith Beck. Helen was a teacher in the Halifax County area for many years. She was an active member of Manchester Unity, IOOF for over 60 years and a 59 year member of Mystic Star Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She was noted for her beautiful knitted baby sets and decorated cakes. Helen is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann (Brian) Loughnan; granddaughter, Deborah (Tim); son, Dr. Kenneth (Dr. Gaye), granddaughters, Gigi and Zoe; son, William; grandson, Bryan (Laura) and great grandson Jaxson. She was predeceased by her husband, Ross E., her step father, Randall E. MacDonald; brother, William and daughter-in-law Elizabeth. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, NS. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 26, 2011 at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place at a later date.
