Jane Melissa Spindler, Age 77 passed away peacefully on December 10 after a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Born in Lunenburg she was the daughter of the late Isabel and Fred Spindler. After graduation from Lunenburg Academy she attended business school in Bridgewater. Several years later she moved to Halifax to take a position with Canada Trust where she had a 30 year career retiring in 2000 as a trust officer.
After retiring she became a serious bridge player forging many long friendships with fellow players. Despite her fear of flying she went on several Caribbean bridge cruises. She was always up for a game while chasing gold points.
Although she had no children of her own, her niece and nephew and their children were a big part of her life. Encouraging them and supporting them in whatever they did.
Jane is survived by her brother John (Frances). Aunt Jane will also be missed by nephew Steven (Hillary) great nephews Levi and Shea. Niece Jillian and great nieces Reese and Ellie.
A service will be held Monday December 18 at 11am at Cruikshank’s funeral home, 2666 Windsor Street in Halifax. With a burial to be in Lunenburg at a later date.
