John Frederick Kane

Kane, John F. 99 of Halifax passed away in his 100th year on March 3, 2015. Born in Halifax on December 22, 1915, he was a son of the late John P. and Agnes ( Humphrey) Kane. Dad retired as Chief Inspector with N.S Light &Power ( Metro Transit) in 1972.He is survived by his son John F. ( Elizabeth) Kane, his grandchildren Michael ( Karen) , Chris ( Jill )Kane and their children. Also survived by his extended family Mary Norton, Helen LeBlanc, Vince (Gayle) Covey, Gerald Covey and their families. He is also survived by his sister Joyce ( Kane) Robert Smith of Ontario. He was predeceased by his first wife Rose Ann ( Shea) (Covey) Kane, his grandson John David Kane. His second wife Kathleen ( Norris) Kane. As well as his extended family James, Frank, and Thomas Covey, and numerous brothers and sisters. No service has been requested by Dad. There will be a committal at a later date in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of the staff members on the 6th floor of St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for all their thoughtfulness and kindness towards father.
