CHISHOLM,Joseph Gregory ‘Rusty’

Age 87, of Halifax, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Inverness, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Donald and Anna Mae (Beaton) Chisholm. Educated at Holy Family School in Inverness and Vocational School in Halifax, he worked at DND Halifax “the Dockyard” for over 36 years. He enjoyed singing, sports, camping, and most of all his family.

He is survived by his son, Tim (Vanessa Smith); Sister Eileen (Bob Brogan); Brothers Harold (Francine), Leonard (Patsy), Clifford (Rose), and Tom (Paula); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Anna Mae Chisholm; sister Ann (Otis Drysdale), brother Donald; and his beloved Wife, Joan (Kidston).

Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. on Thursday Aug. 1 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral will be held on Fri. Aug. 2 at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Church, 1102 Purcell’s Cove Rd., Halifax, with burial to follow at St. Paul’s cemetery, Herring Cove.

Memorial donations may be made to Hope Cottage or The Canadian Cancer Society.
