Joseph F. "Jr" Redmond

Redmond, Joseph F. “JR” – 77 of Halifax passed away August 2, 2010 in the Q E II Victoria General Site. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late William and Nora (Walsh) Redmond. He played Darts for over 40 years for the Halifax Men City League. He was a former employee of Cruikshank’s Funeral Home. He then went to work for Metro Housing Authority retiring from there after 33 years. He enjoyed mowing the lawns for all of his neighbors. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Hannah; sons Allan (Brenda) NL; David (Georgina Dunnington), Bedford; a daughter Kelly, Halifax; a brother Paul (Margaret), NL; a sister Ruth Fultz, Bridgewater; grandchildren David, Samantha and Christopher, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Basil, Larry, Bill, Allan and a sister Joan. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday August 5, in Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home 2032 Robie Street. A memorial mass will take place 10 AM on August 6, in St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, Father Paul Morris officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
