June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was extremely proud of her family and never missed a chance to talk about them. To Joanne and all the Nicholsons,
I think Your Mom was just plain wonderful, beautiful, and made me so welcome to share in your family's life.
I fondly remember the honey and peanut butter sandwiches she made us before we went on our field trips in the forest, and the amazing trips to your farm in PEI and the clear pride and love she showed in all that she did to make it special for all of us -family and friends alike.I can still hear her voice calling us. My heart goes out to you all-she was an amazing Mom.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. Ram always spoke of knowing your dear father during his years of studying at Dal, and the V.G., and as a young student nurse there, I remember him very well, too.
Ram would have wanted me to contact you, to say I was thinking of you on this sad occasion. My sympathy to all of your family.
Hope you and Andrew are well.
Sincerely,

Joanne, John, Donna and family,

I was so sorry to read your mother’s obituary in today’s paper. I know that you will miss her very much.

My name is Dawn Simlett. My Mom [Gerry Carter] was a friend of your mother. While it has been many years since I saw Mrs. Nicholson, I will never forget what a good friend that she was to Mom – especially during my mom’s battle with cancer. I know that my mother always felt very fortunate to have June as one of her good friends.

What I remember most about Mrs. Nicholson is how much she truly loved her family, and how very proud she was of her three children. The last time I saw her was about 8 years ago when I ran into her in Sobeys. She met me with her warm smile, and that smile only became brighter as she talked about “My Joanne”, “My John” and “My Donna”.

While I haven’t seen your Mom in many years, I have thought about her from time-to-time, and wanted to share with you, my memories of your fabulous mother, and let you know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Dawn Carter-Simlett
