We regretfully announce the passing of Lillian Irene Roberts of Halifax Nova Scotia on September 28th, 2023. Her loving husband, Ross was with her when she peacefully passed away. She was 83.
Lillian was born on August 30, 1940 to Stephen and Edith Cluett in Halifax Nova Scotia. Small but mighty, Lilly arrived as a force to be reckoned with.
Lillian met her husband, Edwin Ross Roberts in the late fifties making the matrimonial leap on August 20, 1960. They went on to have three children, Kenneth, Timothy and Jeffrey.
Lillian was a wonderful mother, supporting her children in all the sports they were in, settling into hockey and the role of hockey mom (more cowbell) throughout her children’s early years. Lillian was also a dedicated fan of figure skating, baseball, and played golf throughout her retirement.
Lillian was passionate about cake decorating and a much sought after decorator for many special occasions. Lillian went on to become a teacher of the craft, teaching many classes in the Halifax area.
Lillian filled her home with warmth and kindness, baking and preserving various goodies for her friends and family. Her strawberry jam and relish were sought after by many. Lillian was also an avid walker taking long walks with neighbours and her beloved dogs. We will miss her greatly.
Lillian joins her parents, Stephen and Edith, her brothers, Monfred, Wayne, Jerry, Herbie and Ray, her sisters Phyllis, and Joan, and her son Jeffrey in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Ross, her sister, Jeanne , her children, Ken (Danielle), and Tim (Patricia), and her grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Justyn, Nicholas and Matthew.
A graveside service will be held on October 6th. Family and close friends are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
