Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one's eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above.

It is with a saddened heart that we announce the passing of Linda Marion Elizabeth Cruikshank, a beloved mother and wife on January 14th, 2022 due to complications from her battle with Aphasia. Linda was born in Halifax, NS on January 19th, 1947 to the late George and Prenetta Manuel of Halifax.
Linda was mother to her loving sons, Christopher and Brian. She raised her children with love and devotion in Halifax, NS, with her husband of 53 years, Bruce Cruikshank.
She graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a degree in teaching. Her love for teaching at Halifax Grammar School, and LeMarchant-St. Thomas Elementary, and for caring for her many students remained with her throughout her life. Following her career in teaching she ran the successful education division at H.H. Marshall Ltd. She lived her life with energy and enthusiasm. Spending her days, golfing, playing tennis, painting and enjoying a long list of activities with her girlfriends. The family would like to send gratitude to her many friends that have supported her the last number of years through her battle with Aphasia.
Linda was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. We will always remember her as the “go-go” nana that had a passion for giving and providing love, and adventures to her children and grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband Bruce Cruikshank (of Halifax), and children, Christopher Cruikshank (Danette Pottle), Brian Cruikshank (Alisha) and grand-daughters, Charlie and Nova. In heaven she will again meet her late brother David Manuel.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a small family service will be held to celebrate her life at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home in Halifax, NS.
“We know that we can’t have you but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.”
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Canada.
