Margaret Marion Dauphinee

October 28, 1928May 7, 2019

Margaret passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Guesthouse in Halifax on May 7, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 28, 1928 in Halifax, she was a loving and devoted daughter of the late Mercedes and Guy Dauphinee.

Margaret attended Sir Charles Tupper School and Halifax Ladies College. Upon completion of her schooling she remained at home where she gave a lifelong commitment to the Wellbeing of her entire family. She was a member of St. James Church active in their ACW, a quietly competitive avid bowler and a volunteer at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital.

Margaret is survived by her sister Nancy Boutilier (Innes), sister-in-law Marilyn and brothers David in Riverview N.B. and Ken in Halifax and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, sisters Frances and Madelyn and brothers Robert, Graham and John. Margaret was truly a loving and caring daughter, an amazing sister, aunt, great-aunt, godmother and friend.

Family and friends were the most important part of her life to which they were blessed by her kindness, quiet humor and unconditional love. We wish to sincerely thank the staff of St. Vincent’s and The Berkeley for their compassionate care and nurturing our sister received and all the kindness you bestowed on her family.

Cremation has taken place. A funeral will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 2668 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax on Wednesday May 15th at 1:00pm officiated by Reverend Rachael Parker. A reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to St. James Anglican Church or a charity of choice.

We loved Marg, as our 'back yard' neighbour on Armcrescent. She was such a sweet person, calm and quiet and kind.
Thinking of you, Ken, and all of your family, with sincere sympathy and affection.

Dauphinee Family,
The members of the Vegetarian Bowling group extend our deepest sympathy in the passing of Margaret. "Marg" was one of the original founders of this group of ladies some 40+ years ago. Marg was bowling up until a couple of years ago and still posting a score many of us would love to get. She would often say after getting a score in the 80's, "I used to do better." A great lady with a wit to match.

Dear Ken and Nancy: Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of Margaret, your beloved sister. I first met Margaret on Armcrescent West, then became her neighbour and friend at The Berkeley, where she was loved by all as a kind, caring and gentle person. I am privileged to have known her.
