Maria Valentine Agnes Plane

Plane, Maria Valentine Agnes (Elias) 86 yrs, Halifax, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Selena (McNair) Elias. She was a life member and Past president of the Ladies auxiliary, Scotia Branch #25 and also member of the branch. Maria was a loving and devoted wife of the late Ernest Plane and step-mother to Kathy. She is survived Sons: Barry (Bev) Crotty, Dennis Crotty (Linda) all of Halifax. Daughters: Pamela (Bill) MacAskill, Hants County, Cecila Karney and Dawn Marie Cummings both of Halifax. Brother: Ted Elias, Halifax. Sister: Vera Boutilier, Dartmouth, fifteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Maria was predeceased by her husband Ernest; two daughters: Heather and Kathy; one grandchild; sisters: Jean La Porte, Edna Elias, Joan Elias and Dolly Hayes. Visitation: 6pm - 8 pm Wednesday at Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax where Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 PM Thursday followed by private family burial at Fairview Cemetery.
