Coolen, Mary Linda (née MacInnis) It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Linda Coolen, 64, of Dartmouth. She died surrounded by her family on March 7, 2012 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Linda was born in Halifax on December 7, 1947 and grew up on Leeds Street. She attended St. Stephen's School and St. Patrick's High. After finishing school, she lived for a short time in Toronto and Afton, Antigonish County before returning to Halifax/Dartmouth. She attended Miss Murphy's Business College in Halifax and afterwards was employed first with the N.S. Public Utilities Board, then with Consumer and Corporate Affairs Canada and later with Health Canada. She retired in 2008 and enjoyed having the extra time to spend with family and friends and her "Granddogs" Sadie, Bailey and Lily. Sadie was her constant companion over the last few years and Linda enjoyed their long walks together. She was predeceased by her parents James Ambrose and Mary Rita MacInnis (née O'Brien) and her infant grandsons Nicolas and Joshua Rhynold. She was a loving mother to her sons John, Michael and Dean Rhynold (Nancy Williamson), grandmother to Cassandra and Harrison, sister to Paul (Joyce), Don (Lori), and Ross MacInnis. She was a very special aunt to Jeffrey, Patrick, Roy (Cindy), Marla, Cara, Toby, Brandon, and Carly MacInnis and Krista, Anthony, and Shawn Clarke. Her cousins Dale Blazek and June MacCan became the sisters she never had. She will be sadly missed by Chris Stevens who was like a fourth son to Linda. The family would like to thank Dr. Keating and the other doctors and nurses at the Dartmouth General Hospital Emergency Department and ICU for their valiant efforts to save Linda's life. We would also like to thank them for the compassionate support they gave the grieving family members.
