Mary Harker

Harker, Mary Bessie -87 of Halifax, passed away on February 6, 2012 in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, NS. Born in Montreal Mary was the daughter of the late Milton and Rebecca Harker. Early in Mary’s life her mother passed away and she went to live with her grandparents in England. After the war Mary returned to Canada and lived several years in Montreal before coming to Halifax. She lived most of her life in Halifax until moving to Windsor Elms Village five and a half years ago. For many years Mary attended Full Gospel Church on Chebucto Road, until health issues limited her mobility. Mary was a long time employee at Acadia Bus Lines where she worked in their accounting department. In her spare time, Mary loved to garden and be with friends and family. Her kind spirit and loving generosity will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sisters Marilyn and Muriel, as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Ken. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 14, 2012 from 1-2pm followed by a graveside service at Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
