Dear Aubrey, Dale, Wayne, Gary and families,
I am so saddened to learn of Mary's passing. She was a wonderful, caring and compassionate lady.
In the early 1960's when,  as a mid-teenager, I needed a friend and a place to stay, she and Aubrey took me in and treated me like a member of their family. It was the most stable couple of years of my young life up to that point. We shared many laughs and she helped me through some tough times as well. 
I shall always be grateful and I am a better person for having known her. My sincere condolences to Aubrey and the children and their families. Rest in peace, Mary.

Aunt Mary was always such a warm, generous, funny, and loving person.  I remember summers in Port Aux Basques when she would visit Nan Crewe while our family was there for our annual summer vacation.    As a kid it was great when she was there because it always meant you had someone to play a game of cards with, usually 45s, and there would always be a bottle of Coke in the house.   Between her and Nan it also meant you would never go hungry, or more accurately, you would never not be full.  

Our deepest condolences to the Pelly and Bungay families.  


One thing I know for sure, when you went to visit she made it very difficult to leave and you weren’t getting out without  chocholate in your pocket.  I will miss you Aunt Mary❤️

    Deeply sorry on the loss of Mary, I have wonderful memories of her and  mom as they talked and laughed for hours which I know they are probably doing now.  She was one of a kind and know she will be missed by all.  Dance on beautiful angel.

Mary was one of the kindest souls I have ever met.  She always welcomed me with open arms and lots of love (and food) whenever I had the chance to visit.   She was a special woman indeed.  Our most sincere condolences.  xoxo

Well guys, I don't know where to start.  All I can say is, my heart is aching for you guys.  The only solace I am getting from all of this,  is that she is at peace, and with her loved ones now.  Mary and your family has been a big part of my life, all of my life, but more so, when I moved to Halifax in 1982.  I remember telling mom I was lonely in Halifax, and she said: "Call Aubrey"!  Well, that was one of the best calls that I made in my life!  I went over there for Sunday dinner, and EVERY Sunday after that!  Plus Saturday night card games! What can I say, I am hard to get rid of!  But Mary and I had many laughs over the years (Mostly at Aubrey's expense) lol.   But I got to know your beautiful family over the years, and grow up with all of you.  Oh the memories!  I miss those times.  The last road trip that I made with Mary and Aubrey had to be the best day for all three of us,  in years! We went to Peggy's cove and Liverpool.  We laughed so hard, I almost went off the road a couple of times.   Of course, they talked about it for years after.   I felt so privileged to be able to do that with them.  I will hold that memory with me forever.  I am so sorry I can't be there right now, but just remember as you say good bye to her, that I am standing right beside all of you.   I know there is no worse time than the loss of a mother. Your mom was truly one of the most open and giving human beings I have ever met. I am so blessed that I was able to spend so much time with her. I have learned life-long lessons through her kindness and in her memory, I will walk through life with a bigger heart. I will be here for you every day, for as long as you need me!
Hug Aubrey for me until it hurts, and remember I love each and everyone of you dearly.  Mary, I hope your dancing in the sky! I love you!

Mary always made me feel very special every single time I was lucky enough to cross paths with her. I remember her smile lighting up the room as she reached out  (and up) to hug me and pass along  a compliment or two. She was truly a special person with a gentle soul, and we are all better for knowing her. Della and I would like to pass along our sincere condolences to her large circle of family and friends. Cherish your special memories, and please take care.

I remember your mom when she had the store on Robie St. She was so kind and always spoke to young people especially those from QEHS and Phi Kappa Pi. People from Newfoundland learn that at an early age it seems and thankfully kindness was passed on to her children. We pray the good Lord gives you peace as you deal with your loss. To my extended family,  Uncle Aubrey, Dale, Wayne, and Gary.  So sad to hear of Aunt  Mary,s  passing. May she RIP.  I remember visiting them several times when I lived in Nova Scotia. They always made me feel so welcome and always special because I was family.  So loving and always had a lot of laughs.  Aunt Mary would always put out a big spread of food.  First thing she would say is... Are you hungry?    My love and prayers are with all  of you during this very difficult time.  Keep your many special memories alive in your hearts.
