Of Halifax, who would have turned 88 on Saturday, September 15, passed away on September 12, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Nell (Murray) and Harold Peter Briggs and wife of the late James Peter Kehoe.
Nancy loved her home of Nova Scotia and has lived in Halifax and in Chester most of her life with brief years away in Montreal and Toronto. Her life as a wife and mother, supporting her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed swimming, tennis, sailing and gardening. Her passion was art. She was a talented artist and will be remembered by her family and friends for her eye for color and her natural talent with a paint brush and a pencil.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Nancy Freedman (Eric); her grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua Freedman all of Sonora, California as well as her extended families, the Fitzpatrick family of Montreal and the Carmichael family of Toronto. Along with her parents and husband (1997) she was also predeceased by her daughter, Julie Ann Kehoe (1983).
Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 15 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, 1455 Summer Street, Halifax with Father Gordon MacLean officiating. A reception will follow the service adjacent to the Chapel. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Sackville, NS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the IWK Foundation, one of Nancy’s favorite charities.
A special thank you to be extended to the staff at Parkland at the Gardens who have shared time with her over the last 5 years and to the numerous friends who have been a support to the family over the years.
