CAPLAN, Raymond Jacob - 84, passed away Wednesday, Oct 17, 2012, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax Infirmary site. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Theodore and Ruth (Rothschild) Caplan. Survived by brother Maxwell, Victoria, BC; sister-in-law Janet, Point Claire, PQ; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Norman and sister Erma Joan Harskin.
Ray supported many causes during his lifetime, two of which were Plan International where he sponsored a child from Guynea, West Africa, and the World Wildlife Fund.
Ray Caplan was a long-time member of the Shaar Shalom Synagogue. The funeral will be held Friday, Oct 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Shaar Shalom Cemetery located on Connaught Ave. just before the Windsor Street intersection. Attendees can make their way directly to the cemetery for this service.
