

Dunbar, Raymond Austin, 72 years, of Halifax passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the QEII Health Sciences Center. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Allan and Mildred (Mills) Dunbar. Raymond worked many jobs throughout his career including: steeplejack, window cleaner, and as a fire restoration specialist until his retirement. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially when there was a race coming on that he always had to watch. In later years, he enjoyed his weekly TV bingo games with his neighbor and friend Joan. Raymond had a great sense of humor, was a hard worker and would always lend a helping hand when you needed him. He is survived by his daughters Linda, Elmsdale, Brenda, Ont., Kathy, Halifax, Amanda (Angus), East Tracadie, Lisa (Tommy), East Tracadie, and son Ronnie, Halifax. Twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two on the way. He is also survived by his sisters: Diane and Shirley (Jeff) Ont, Carol, Sackville, Janie and Brenda (Yves) Ketch Harbour, Marilyn, Edmonton, Wendy (Bill) Halifax, and also by his brothers: Murray, Tommy (Lois) and Kevin, all of Halifax. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Linda and twin brother Ronald. Arrangements are under the care of Cruikshank's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. with visitation Wednesday, July 24, from 6 - 8 pm, and where Funeral Service will be held 11 am Thursday, July 25, 2013 with reception to follow, and private Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Windsor Street, Halifax.
