

Mumba, Richard Kasongo, 66 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rev. Mumba after a brief battle with cancer, on Saturday, November 10th, 2012 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Hospital. (Halifax, Nova Scotia).
Born in Zambia, he was the third of eight children born to Matthew Mulonda and Jennifer Mumba nee Chalwe Ngwashi.
Rev. Mumba worked as a postal master in Congo, later as a teacher, headmaster and boarding master for the Ministry of Education in Zambia, retiring in 2001. A man of God, he trained in the Christian ministry and founded Jordan Evangelical Pentecostal Ministry International in Zambia. He came to Nova Scotia, Canada in 2006 with his wife Albertina. An avid prayer warrior, intercessor, and evangelist, Rev Mumba served on the Cornwallis St. United Baptist Church Ministry Team, prior to establishing Jordan Love Anointed Ministry International in 2011 on Gottigen St. Halifax. A soft spoken and humble man, Rev. Mumba and his wife touched many lives in our Churches and the community. He was well respected and appreciated.
He is survived by his loving wife Albertina Mumba (nee Mutenge), children Kasongo Amos (Patricia), Mulonda Willie (Peggy), Chitenge Alick (Florence), Kawama Patrick (Mavis) Chishimba Esnat (Nicholas Kabwe), Mwelwa Lillian (Innocent), Lloyd (Waunita), Mumba Mercy (Gershom), Ngoi Beauty, Kaoma Eddie, Mukobe Belinda, 37 grandchildren, siblings Rose Mumba, Anna Nsenga, Sheena Mutale (Elias), Noel Mumba (Brenda) and Onesmo Mumba (Charity), 2 aunts and a large extended family.
He is predeceased by father Mathew Mulonda (1982), mother Jennifer Chalwe (1988), sister Violet Ilunga Mulundu (Robinson) 1998, and brother, Donald Mumba (2011).
Visitation and a service of celebration will be held at Cornwallis St. United Baptist Church on Saturday Nov. 17th at 11 am. Officiating will be Rev. Rhonda Britton assisted by Rev. Cheryl Ann Beals and Rev. Elias Mutale. A time of fellowship will follow after the service.
Burial will take place at a later date in Zambia. Donations towards the cost of transporting his remains to Zambia would be appreciated. Cheques may be made payable to Rev.
