A Message to Joyce Daniels:

Please accept my condolences on the death of your brother, “Ronnie” Flemming on June 25th.

I do not know your family personally, but after reading your brother’s obituary, I see that we are first cousins. It is sad that we don’t get to know our relatives until we see an obituary in the paper.

Your father Lawrence and my father John were brothers. I remember your father came to visit us once after we had moved from Halifax to Stewiacke.

I have been trying to compile our “Flemming” family tree and it’s a challenge at best. I am wondering if you have any knowledge of our grandfather Arthur Flemming (or other members of our families). No one in my immediate family can remember ever knowing our grandfather.

You may know he was married twice. His first wife “Annie Nehiley” passed when she was quite young leaving a family of 6: Lawrence, Vera, John, Arthur, Vincent and Dorothy. He re-married and I believe her name was Hilda Whalen. They had 5 children: Peggy, Thomas, Douglas, Donald and Barbara. Donald is the last immediate family member living.

Are you able to add to our “Flemming Family Tree”? I would appreciate anything you are able to share. If you are interested, it would be great to meet you in person. I’m just sorry that I didn’t get on this years ago before we lost some of our families and that history.

Sincere and kindest regards.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Ron. I knew Ron from Staples and he was so loved there. I shared his obituary on my fb and many, many of our Staples people are sending their condolences to his family and friends. Back in 2011, we did an article on Ron in our work newsletter. I wanted to share this with you. He always had a smile on his face and everyone there loved him. Sending deepest sympathies.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Ronnie. I will always remember back in the day when Cheryl and I would go to the dances at Kings College, It was Ronnie, (our own personal Chauffeur) who saw to it that we arrived safely there and back home again. He was a very sweet man and I’m sure he will be sorely missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, love and hugs.
