Sydney William Williams

Williams – Sydney (Syd) Williams passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in Veterans Memorial Hospital, at the age of 93. Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1924, son of William and Rosie (Heitzman) Williams.

Pre-deceased by sister, Evelyn Holden; brother, Earl Williams. Survived by Iris, his loving wife of 59 years; daughters, Barbara (Leon) Berg, Alberta; Allison (Will) Lewis, N.S.; and son, Mark (Karen) Williams, Alberta; grandchildren, Lincoln, Lanessa, Lindsay, Amanda, Erika, Matthew, Erin; great grandchildren, Aiva, Anjeli, Kloe, Levi.

Member of the Masonic Order, Evening Star OES, Vimy #27 Legion. Syd was a skilled craftsman, gardener and innkeeper in Annapolis Royal, N.S.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home Chapel, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Rev. Bob Chapman officiating with Bill Hale assisting. Reception to follow. Interment in Musquodoboit Harbour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
