Thomas Robert Samways

Samways, Thomas Robert, 80 yrs., Halifax, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the QEII-VG Site. Born in Ingonish, he was a son of the late Oliver and Emma (Hardy) Samways. Tom had retired from the Lord Nelson after 28 yrs. devoted service. He is survived by his wife of 56 yrs. the former Mary Janet (Fougere), Sons: Robert (Dawn) Dartmouth, Richard (Gail), Hammond’s Plains, Daughter- Debbie (Doug) Halifax, Sister - Alice Humphrey, Cornerbrook, Nfld., many nieces and nephews and special nieces little Debbie and Emma. Grandchildren: Jason, Evan, Adam, Jennifer, Barry, Ryan, Michael, Sherri, Synnove, and four great grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Fred, Oliver, Norman, Bertram & Eli. Sisters: Beatrice Edwards, Anne Covey, Grandson Scott, Granddaughter Tabitha. Funeral Service will be held 11 am Monday, Cruikshank’s Funeral Home Chapel, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, Rev. Carson Baxter Officiating, with burial Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Arthritis Society or The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
