

Sinyerd, Vincent Orville-77, passed away on March 18, 2012, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness with COPD at the QE II Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Marcus and Norma (Langille) Sinyerd. He had served 20 years in the RCN, part of which was spent on the HMCS Kootenay at the time of the explosion in 1969. He also worked for 22 years at TD Bank. Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Noreen (Hartlen); sons, Steven (Carolyn), Mark (Audrey) and Kevin (Sherri); sisters, Veronica and Beverley ;eight grandchildren, Lindsay (Andrew) Crocket, Nicole, Craig, Jennifer, Michele (Jason) Thomson, Cassie (Jacob) Hiltz, Jesse (Jessica) and Alex; three great grandchildren, Sophia, Ramona and Kaeto. He was predeceased by an infant brother. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Visitation will be begin at 1pm on Friday March 23, 2012 followed by a memorial service at 2pm. Interment to follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens.
