Cox, Violet “Wickie” Ann Melinda, 94, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 27, 2009. Married on Feb. 4, 1933 they had two children, Ronald and Barbara. Together they enjoyed 61 happy years until Henry encountered ill health and passed away in November, 1994.In Wickie’s earlier years, she and Henry participated in bowling leagues and enjoyed the Friday night social evenings at the Halifax Armories. Her home was always the central place where friends and family frequently visited. Wickie enjoyed playing cards her entire life, especially crib, and played nightly, which she did the night prior to her unexpected passing. Camping at Klahanie in Aylesford with family and friends was a regular weekend event for many years. She looked forward to the enjoyment of completing the weekly Friday Lexicon puzzle. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she always placed the needs of her family first. A pot of treats was always kept full for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other visitors. And she enjoyed nothing more than a treat or a chocolate herself. She enjoyed watching the children at play and up until the last week would hold the babies on her lap. During the last few years while she enjoyed and followed various T.V. game shows, the DVD’s of Daniel O’Donnell were her favorite entertainment.
