Wayne Kenneth Beaver

July 20, 1947April 28, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Kenneth Beaver, age 72, on April 28 2020. Born July 20 1947. Wayne was the oldest son of the late Robert and Eileen Beaver. Wayne is predeceased by his sisters, Sharon and Janet, and brother Arnold. Wayne is survived by his loving daughter Lisa (Kevin); son Kyle (Erica); granddaughter Stephanie (Jay); sisters Linda, Darlene (Andy), Shelley (Blaine); brother Robert (Faye); and several nieces and nephews.

In his early years, Wayne worked as an embalmer at the Victoria General Hospital. Wayne was creative and loved working with his hands. He worked as a fabricator for many decades, starting with Ideal Aluminium and finishing his career with Alumitech Architectural Glass and Metal. He always kept busy by completing puzzles, crafting model warships, or building glass doll cases for his family. Although Wayne had his struggles with Alzheimer's of 10 years, he continued to be a fun-loving, funny, feisty man. Wayne loved listening to old country music and watching old Western movies. He loved fishing in his younger years with his daughter at the Sheet Harbour falls. Wayne loved the art of photography. If there was a ship docked in the Halifax Harbour, he would downtown admiring all of it's beauty.

Wayne succumbed to complications due to Covid-19 at the age of 72. A special thank you to the staff at the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, the staff at Mount Hope and the staff at Northwood Halifax Campus 8C.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wayne's honour to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
