William Michael O'Brien

William (Bill) Michael O’Brien (age, 93) passed away at the Halifax infirmary on September 25th 2024.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye and God Bless to our dear Father, Grandfather and Brother.

Bill was born on 01AUG1931 in Ferryland NL. to parents Michael and Philomenia O’Brien.

He will be forever missed by Daughter: Shirley, Bedford - Sons: John (Nancy) and Larry (Kerri), Halifax - Daughter-in-law: Peggy O’Brien, Amherst - Sister: Annie Jordan, Ferryland NL - Grandsons: Adam (Carol), Dublin IE and Andrew (Elise), Halifax - Granddaughters: Alanna (Paul) Makinen, Ashley (Joshua) Roseveare and Amy (Matt) O’Brien, Halifax - Great-Grandsons: Tucker and Cooper Makinen and Oliver O’Brien, Halifax - Great-Granddaughter: Kate O’Brien, Dublin IE - Niece: Sylvia (Billy) Power, Lakeside - Nephew/God-Son: Bobby Stowe, Lakeside - and Nephews: Brian Satterley, Halifax and Blair (Heather) Satterley, Florida USA. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Madeline O’Brien; son, James O’Brien; and siblings Jack, Patrick, Leo, James, Morris, Cyril, Stewart, Florence, Mary Anne, Gertie, and Mary.

Bill was a Supervisor at the Halifax Dockyard and seldom missed a day of work. Nothing made Bill happier than spending time with family, morning coffee with friends, touring the local shopping mall, and daily walks through Point Pleasant Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Northwood Manor for their excellent care of Bill this past year.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of Cruikshank's Funeral Home on Windsor Street in Halifax; cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on October 16th 2024 at 1pm, in the chapel. Burial will take place at the Gate of Heaven in Lower Sackville and the family requests that any donations please be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia and/or the Canadian Cancer Society, instead of to the family.

May the winds of love blow softly - and whisper in your ear - that we really love and miss you dad, and wish you were still here. Forever in our hearts.
