Adlene Jane "Addie" Custer

July 24, 1932February 21, 2018

Adlene Custer (July 24, 1932 – February 21, 2018) was the loving wife of the late Lewis Custer for 40 years. A life-long resident of Hamilton, Ohio, she was committed to her family and made much out of humble beginnings. A wonderful sister, showing great love and compassion, loyal to family and friends with a generous spirit, and love of life. Adlene enjoyed fishing with Lewis, dancing with friends, and traveling.

Mrs. Custer was blessed with a keen mind, sound judgement, and an admirable work ethic. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. It pleased her to conduct her own business enterprises until the time of her death.

Adlene leaves two surviving brothers, Frank Owens of Hamilton, Ohio and William Owens of Orlando, Florida. Mrs. Custer was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Gladys Owens and sister-in-law, Maxine Owens. Mrs. Custer lived with her brother Frank the past year, blessing each other with companionship and care.

Seven adult nephews and nieces are proud to have had her influence in their lives. Fifteen great nephews and nieces also had the privilege to know their aunt as well. Nephews and nieces always felt special visiting “Aunt Addie” with fond memories, as she would make fudge, cakes, and cream puffs for their enjoyment during overnight stays.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 4pm until 7pm on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. I only met you one time. But I did feel so at ease talking to you. You had a knack of making me feel comfortable. Yes, you were like an aunty. It was a pleasure knowing you. I am sure you have impacted many lives. Rest in peace my dear.
