Beulah Jane Adams Shope

\Beulah Jane Shope, age 72, of Hamilton, died on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born in Blue Ash, Ohio, on April 28, 1939, the daughter of the late Jefferson Davis and Elnora May (Swallow) Adams. Beulah was a graduate of D. Russell Lee School of Nursing. In Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on December 31, 1955, Beulah married Norman R. Shope, Sr. She was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church and the Eastern Star. Beulah was a home care nurse for children with special needs. They were her pride and joy. She was renowned for her quilting. Beulah is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Norman R. Shope, Sr; seven children, Norman (Nona) Shope, Jr., David (Trish) Shope, James (Robin) Shope, Judith (Jeffrey) Strickland, Susan (Mark) Miller, Daniel (Tina) Shope, and John (Judy) Shope; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Adams and Roger Adams; three sisters, Jo Ellen Back, Suzanne Hadley and Ruth “Sis” Hartman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Beulah was also preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Suzanne; three brothers, David, Jerrold “Butch” and Richard Adams; two sisters, Irene Garcia and Juanita “Mick” Stepp; and one grandson, Adam Shepherd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Julie Billiart Church, 224 Dayton Street, Hamilton, OH 45011 with Father Michael Pucke officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy Franciscan at St. Raphael, 610 High Street, Hamilton, OH 45011 or the Salvation Army, 235 Ludlow Street, Hamilton, OH 45011.
