Beverly Ann DeVore

Bev was born in Camden, New Jersey. She attended Merchantville School and had many friends. When her family transferred to Ohio, her friends gave her a farewell party. Moving to Forest Park, Ohio, she attended several Greenhills – Forest Park Schools. Loving music, she sang in the choir and learned to play piano. She did not like the accordion lessons she had to take in N.J. While in school she ran with a wild and crazy group of friends that had several adventures together such as going down to Union Terminal and watching the last train come in, and collecting telephone pole insulators. She was a member of Springdale Presbyterian Church and was active in the Youth group. Bev was part of the first graduating class of Forest Park High School. She entered the nursing program at Ohio State University and graduated with a B.S. in Nursing. Working at Mercy North Hospital and then Mercy South (now Mercy Fairfield), she was introduced to Jeff, the son of one of the nurses there. They married and had two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Cyndi. They also did an international adoption and adopted two brothers, Alex and Philip, from Brazil. Later, Bev encountered some health issues, including Multiple Sclerosis. The marriage annulled, Bev moved to Fairfield Township and lived with her sister. They attended Center Pointe Christian church. During that time, Bev reconnected with her high school friends, and dated Bob Horton, who also had MS. They created a new life for themselves and were “married” by the captain of a ship during an MS cruise. Bev was known for her sweetness, kindness, and good heart. She taught herself scrap booking and became very proficient at it. She enjoyed reading, music, trying new recipes, and visiting with family. Bev passed peacefully at Cincinnati Hospice Sunday, July 18, surrounded by people who loved and cared for her. She is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Center Pointe Christin Church with Kevin Miller officiating. Condolences may be left for the family at www.Webb-Noonan.com
