Birdena Nmn Brinson

Birdena Brinson, age 95, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 12, 2026, at Berkely Square Assisted Living. She was born on January 7, 1931, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Rev. Lonnie and Bertha Meece.

Birdena devoted many years of dedicated service as the cafeteria manager at Fairfield High School. She was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and the kindness she extended to students and colleagues alike.

She married the love of her life, Arnold E Brinson, and together they built a close-knit and loving family. Birdena found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. An exceptional cook, she was happiest preparing delicious family meals that brought everyone together around the table.

Her creativity and generosity were reflected in the many talents she shared with others. A gifted seamstress, Birdena lovingly sewed clothing for her children and grandchildren, made beautiful curtains for family and friends, and took pride in creating things with her own hands. She was also an avid gardener who raised beautiful flowers and abundant vegetables each year, and she enjoyed canning the harvest, preserving both the bounty of the season and cherished family traditions.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Birdena was a founding member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church, where she faithfully served and built lasting friendships throughout the years.

Birdena was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold E Brinson; her son, Calvin Brinson; her three brothers, Wesley Meece, Arnold Meece, and Joe Meece; and her two sisters, Ruby Mounce and Evelyn Slavey.

She is survived by her three loving daughters, Sylvia Jean Riley (Gene), Sharon Keal (John), and Carol Sue Clear (Tom); her brother, Rev. Vestal Meece (Sheila); her sister, Doris Brinson; her seven cherished grandchildren, Cathie Eickhoff (Brad), Lisa Lazear (Noah),

Cyndee Stump , Jodi Peters (Justin), Matt Keal, Bryan Clear (Laura), and Abbey Largent (Cooper); and her ten treasured great grandchildren, Eli Lazear, Cassie Stump, Rocco Peters, Ridge Peters, Rendale Peters, Madison Keal, Dylan Amann, Brooks Clear, Wyatt Clear, and Elisabeth Largent.

Birdena is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom were blessed by her love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family. Her legacy lives on in the countless meals she prepared, the gardens she nurtured, the clothes she lovingly stitched, and the lives she touched with her quiet strength, steadfast faith, and unconditional love.
