Birdena devoted many years of steady, hard-working service as the cafeteria manager for Fairfield High School, a role carried out with care, reliability, and a kind-hearted spirit that others came to know and appreciate.
Birdena married Arnold E. Brinson and went on to have a loving family. A devoted presence at home, Birdena was an avid cook who enjoyed making delicious family dinners for her family to enjoy.
Birdena’s thoughtful hands were evident in the many ways Birdena cared for others—as a seamstress who enjoyed making curtains for those who she knew, and through the patient work of gardening, raising impressive flowers and vegetables every year. Birdena also enjoyed canning, preserving the fruits of those seasons with the same diligence that marked so much of life.
Birdena was a founding member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church, a commitment that reflected a life rooted in faithfulness and community.
Birdena is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnold Brinson; her son, Calvin Brinson; her three brothers, Wesley, Arnold, and Joe Meece; her two sisters, Ruby Mouce and Evelyn Slavey.
