Bobby Ray “Bob” Buchanan, Sr., age 70 of Fairfield Township, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, November 12, 2021. He was born in Corbin, KY on May 26, 1951, the son of the late Robert and Dissie (Gambrel) Buchanan. On June 14, 1974 in Scottsboro, AL, Bob married his wife of over 24 years, Barbara Faye VanDeVenter, and she preceded him in death on February 28, 1999. He was a Lab Technician for Smart Papers for 29 years, retiring in 2013, and was a faithful member of Tylersville Worship Center, where he was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years, as well as a nursing home minister for five years. Bob is survived by his children, Bobby Ray (Jessica) Buchanan, Jr., Diana Marie (Jason) Strong, Luke Daniel Buchanan, and Mandy Nicole (Jonathan) Jones; grandchildren, Gideon, Alivia, Noah, Heaven, Hannah, Jason Jr., Luke Jr., Ethyn, Taylian, Tylah, and Elijah; and niece, Sharon (Greg) Wahls. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Myrtle (Creed), Lois (Leo), Louis, and Virgie (Bill). A Visitation will be held from 6pm until 8pm on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. A Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Tylersville Worship Center, 2753 Tylersville Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 with Pastor Keith McRoberts officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
