Carolyn Marie Straus

Carolyn Marie Straus, age 88, went home to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on September 4, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 4, 1935 to the union of Frank and Marie Ferber. Carolyn was a 1954 graduate of Monroe High School. In 1955, she married Edward C. Straus and they shared 45 years together. Her passions in life were our God, Jehovah, her family, flowers, and a great love for horses. She was thrilled to be the winner of the first Richard’s Pizza “Steak Sandwich for Life” contest in 2006 and enjoyed 17 years of free steak sandwiches.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; brothers, Richard, Francis, and Louis; sister, Evelyn Lawrence and beloved brother-in-law, Keith Leab.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Ed Straus (Nancy); daughters, Susan Henry (Jim) and Lisa Straus; sisters, Dorothy Leab, and Mary Tuttle (Joe); sister-in-law, Betty Ferber (Richard); grandchildren, Erica, Cheryl, Raymond, Trevor, and Logan; great-grandchildren, Diane, Raeleigh, Lukas, and Jacob; many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park, 2421 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 on Saturday, October 14, 2023 beginning at 11:00am. Reverend James Love, Sr., officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding Center in Carolyn’s name.
