Born on November 1, 1932, in Enka, North Carolina, Catherine was the daughter of the late Ted Lindsey and Lyda Davis. She attended Sand Hill High School in Enka, North Carolina. Throughout her life, Catherine demonstrated a strong faith and dedication to her family and community.
Of all the roles she held throughout her lifetime, the one Catherine valued most was that of a homemaker. She took great pride in caring for her home and family, finding her greatest fulfillment in the love, comfort, and stability she provided to those closest to her.
Catherine was a faithful member of West Side Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio for 64 years. Her faith in Jesus was first in her life. She demonstrated that faith through the Women’s Missionary Union, being a regular Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, delighting in annual summer mission trips, singing in the church choir and ever seeking to grow in her faith through daily devotionals and yearly conferences. In her devotion, she wanted others to have the same. Whether in the dentist chair, at the neighborhood picnic or in the hospital, she shared her love for Jesus with everyone she met. Her compassion for each person and their spiritual journey epitomizes her love for Christ and her fellow man.
Above all, Catherine’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind and the many lives she touched throughout her 93 years. Constant support for her children and grandchildren were shown through genuine interest in their every venture, no matter how small. Her memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert J. Queen; her children, Debra Rymer (Jon), Robert Queen Jr. (Cynthia), and Ann Alliston (Jeff deceased); her sister, Joan Fisher; and her grandchildren, Thomson Rymer, Christina Queen, Samuel Queen, Katie Hopkins, and Alice Palmer.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Connor Queen, Jack Queen, Lilly Palmer, Luke Palmer, Riley Palmer, and Alexis Hopkins, along with extended family members and friends.
