Carol and family, our deepest regrets for the passing of one of the 'best' in my life.  I wish we were able to be with you in this time.  Clayton will be always remembered as a good, good friend and a wonderful man.

I worked with Clay years ago when we were employed by Ohio Casualty. He was  really a nice, fun person. The family has my deepest sympathy.

One of the best "bosses" I ever had in my working career.  I had the privilege and honor of working with him for almost 5 years as his legal assistant in the late 1980s.  His pearls of life and law wisdom became part of the bedrock upon which I built my legal career.  It saddens me to hear of his passing.  My husband, Charlie, and I extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Clayton.

I was Clayton's secretary for the past 16 years, he was a great attorney, a great boss and a great friend.  I miss you so much Clayton, rest in peace.

Oh Clayton, how hard it is to see your name in the obituaries. I never dreamed it would be this soon. I feel honored to have worked for you for 7 years. You taught me the law and gave me confidence. You always told me, I was so smart, I should have been an attorney, instead of working for them. I still remember during my interview, you said ‘don't let this job be your life, like it is mine'. What you meant by that was, your heart was in it. You actually cared about your clients and their families. If you lost a case, you would appeal it, until you won. You fought hard for a lot of people and their freedom. You had a heart of gold, treated Dianne and I like your children. If we needed anything, you would do everything you could to help us. You and I shared a passion for old country music. You once told me, a Conway Twitty song, ‘Honky Tonk Angel' was written by a man in Hamilton.  How awesome is that. I guess you and I are the only ones who would appreciate something like that..haha. I hope you know you made your mark on Hamilton Ohio. You kicked a lot of butts in the Courtroom, but touched a lot of hearts along the way. I will never for you Clayton. I want to dedicate a song to you, by George Jones song ‘Who's gonna fill their shoes'. Because nobody can fill yours. I txt Di today, that the world felt empty without you in it.  It does.  We miss you

When I met Clayton, he welcomed me to the Napier Family at the Family Reunion. The last time I saw him, he hugged me and reminded me that we would always be family and if the girls and I ever needed anything, to give him a call.  He never hesitated to give me, Sharon Leigh and Elizabeth friendship, love and support. He will be missed by everyone whose lives were touched by him.  My sincere sympathy, prayers and thoughts are with Carol, his family and all those he loved and who loved him.

Carol and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Clayton was my friend, who just happened to also be a great attorney.  He helped me through some pretty rough days, and I will never forget his compassion.  We shared a few laughs along the way, and I will always remember his smile.  Rest in peace, Clayton.

Carol and Family:  Clayton was just about the most honest person around.  As a lawyer, he only spoke truth; you could count on him.  He often joked that he practiced "meatball law," but in reality he defended hard cases with intelligence and fervor.  He cannot be replaced.  We first met Clayton when he was a student in Don's Freshman English class at Miami.  Don remembers Clayton  as a fine writer and excellent student who enthusiastically contributed to class discussion.  Vicky remembers waiting together with Clayton for their cases to be called and almost always agreeing about local and national issues.  We will continue to remember him fondly.  Vicky and Don Daiker

Clayton, Orville (Hubert) and I go way back to our boyhood days at Hanover School and then on through high school.
Clayton had a unique personality and an infectious, dry wit that was always "at the ready". Very intelligent, thoughtful and eloquent, but down to earth. A good man who did well!
