Dale William Schierholt

Dale William Schierholt, age 92 of Hamilton, passed away on July 9, 2026, at his residence. Born March 9, 1934, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, Dale was the son of the late William J. Schierholt and Leona W. (Lietz) Schierholt—a man whose life was defined by unwavering service and deep devotion to both country and family. A proud U.S. Navy Atomic veteran of the Korean War, his military service forged in him a lifelong commitment to duty, discipline, and quiet courage—values he carried not only through his military service but into the roles he held as husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served his nation during a pivotal era, and that same sense of honor guided his 68-year marriage to Joyce (Martin) Schierholt, whom he wed on February 15, 1958, in Celina, Ohio. Their enduring love was the cornerstone of a family built on loyalty, strength, and quiet resilience. Dale retired as a machine operator from Ford Motor Company, where his steadfast work ethic—honed in the Navy—earned him respect among colleagues and supervisors alike. He approached every task with precision and pride, embodying the dignity of hard work. A man of tradition and service, Dale was a member of East River Road Baptist Church, Washington Lodge #17 F&AM, the Scottish Rite, and was honored as a Kentucky Colonel—each affiliation reflecting his deep belief in brotherhood, integrity, and civic duty. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; two sons, Floyd (Leigh) Schierholt and Dale (Mary Ann) Schierholt II; two grandchildren, Gray (Devin) Schierholt and Ethan (Taylor) Schierholt; and one great-granddaughter, Noah—a living legacy of love and strength. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Zartman, and many cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his twin brother, Don Schierholt, and sisters Lois Darling, Lucille Stienke, Betty McCullough, Jean Reigelsperger, and Dorothy Myers. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, a fitting tribute to a man who lived with humility, led with quiet strength, and loved with unwavering loyalty.
