Deanna Easterling Reid

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deanna Louise Easterling Reid, 83, of West Chester, Ohio, on July 22, 2026.

Deanna was a devoted wife, loving mother, and the kind of Nana who could always be found sitting in the front row, cheering on those she loved most. Her unwavering support, joyful spirit, and deep love for her family will be remembered always.

Born on November 29, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, Deanna was the cherished daughter of the late Juanita and Dennis Easterling. She married the love of her life, Gerald S. Reid, on August 14, 1965, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and music. Deanna is survived by her three children, Kristina Brown of Fairfield Township, Ohio, Greg (Susan) Reid of New Richmond, Ohio, and Brad (Nicci) Reid of Hamilton, Ohio; and her four beloved grandchildren, Logan (Julianne) Brown of Littleton, Colorado, Dillon Brown of West Chester, Ohio, Jonah (Eva and expected child) Reid of Village of Hammersville, Ohio, and Gracie Reid of New Richmond, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Marsha (Wade) Meyers, and her nieces, Lindsay (Jimmie) Petry of Urbana, Ohio, and Whitney (Stephen) Stutzriem of Great Falls, Montana.

Music was the soundtrack of Deannas life. From an early age, she found joy on the stage, singing and playing the piano at school and church. She later graduated from Olivet Nazarene College with a degree in music and devoted much of her life to sharing that gift with others. Throughout the years, Deanna faithfully served as a director of music at several area churches, leading worship and providing music for countless church services, weddings, and funerals. She believed music was meant to be shared, especially by young people. If you attended her church and played an instrument, chances are you found yourself enthusiastically volunteered into one of her ensembles and proudly added to her ever-growing list of musicians. Her passion for nurturing talent and bringing people together through music left a lasting impact on generations of students and church families.

Outside of music, Deannas greatest joy was her family. She rarely missed an opportunity to attend a grandchilds soccer game, wrestling match, horseback riding competition, concert, recital, or academic awards program. No matter the event, she was there with a proud smile and words of encouragement.

Those who knew Deanna will remember her for her unwavering love of family, her lifelong passion for music, her gift for teaching and encouraging others, and her playful, silly sense of humor that could brighten any room. Her faith, kindness, and joyful spirit touched countless lives, and her legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 10:30am-12:30pm with service to follow at West Chester Presbyterian Church @ 8930 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, West Chester Township, Ohio 45069.
