It is with heavy hearts, but deep gratitude for a life well lived, that we must announce the passing of the beloved Deborah “Debbie” Hacker (Retherford). She left the world on Tuesday, March 4, but the warmth and gentleness of her love will never fade.
Debbie led her life with a heart full of love and gentleness, building a life of generosity and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was known for her quick wit, warm smile and kind heart. Born on April 17, 1948 in Hamilton, OH, she found joy in the simple things like spending time with her family, watching a cozy Hallmark movie and testing her luck at the club or casino. She reminded us all to take a moment to enjoy the little moments that surround us.
She enjoyed a lemon drop at the Legion with friends, but there is nothing she loved or enjoyed more than her family. Debbie married her best friend, Gary on 2/7/1969. Together they created a wonderful life filled with a lot of love, endless laughter and so many countless memories that will forever be cherished. She was devoted to putting those she cared for before herself, ensuring everyone felt loved.
Debbie is survived by her son Chris, and his wife Amie; daughter Paulie; and her treasured grandchildren Ian, Alex, Katie and Aidan; niece Paula, whose compassion and support brought great comfort to her. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Gary, as well as her mother Rosemary, her father Dewey, sister Sharon and brother Randy, all of whom she loved and missed dearly every day.
A visitation to honor her memory and life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011, beginning at 10:00am until time of services, beginning at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
Her kindness and gentle wisdom will forever be missed. While we will forever miss her, we take comfort in knowing she leaves a legacy of love among the many lives she touched and people she encountered.
