Dennis Giddings

Born to Lee and Arwilda (Walters), Denny lived a full and meaningful life centered around family, hard work, and the many passions that brought him joy.

From a young age, Denny developed a lifelong love of racing and cars. He also found great happiness outdoors, especially while golfing, fishing, and boating. These hobbies became cherished parts of his life and provided countless memories over the years.

Dennis graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Pharmacy in 1965. He spent many of his early professional years working as a pharmacist at a pharmacy in Cortland, Ohio where he built lasting relationships within his community.

In 1974, he joined his father in the steel industry, beginning a new chapter in his career. Through his dedication, leadership, and knowledge of the industry, he became Vice President and General Manager of Taylor Steel, a position he held until his retirement in 2003. In recognition of his accomplishments and contributions to the industry, he was honored by the Association of Steel Distributors as Steel Man of the Year in 1994.

While his professional accomplishments were many, his greatest pride was his family. He was the devoted husband of Patricia (Polivka), who preceded him in death in 2017, and the loving father of Patrice Darlington. He was also a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Emily, who will always cherish the memories they shared.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia; his son-in-law, Ronald Darlington, who passed away in 2025; and his parents, Lee and Arwilda.

Denny will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, his adventurous spirit, and the many simple pleasures that made life special to him—from a day on the golf course or out on the lake to talking about cars and racing. His legacy lives on through the family he loved and the memories he leaves behind.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Patrice, granddaughter, Emily, her husband Zachary, and all of the family and friends whose lives he touched.
