

Edith L. “Edie” Cook of St. Clair Township, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born in Hamilton on August 15, 1951, the daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Purdy) Fox. Edie is survived by her husband, Charles R. “Randy” Cook; daughter, Jennifer Payne; sons, Jamie and Brian Cook; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Lipscomb; brother, James Fox, Jr.; and her nieces and nephews who she loved like her own. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Betty Gerber and Bessie Saylor. Edie served the community by serving on the New Miami Council, New Miami Board of Public Affairs and the New Miami School Board. She retired from the New Miami Local School District as a media specialist in the library for 20 years. A special thank you to the hospice nurses who stayed at the house in her final days; they were fantastic. Thank you to all who have been a part of her life and all the thoughts and prayers that were sent her way. Graveside Services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Hickory Flat Cemetery on the corner of Morganthaler and Wehr Roads in St. Clair Township. The family suggests donations be made in her name to the New Miami School Library, 600 Seven Mile Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45011.
