Edward Frank Doczy, age 69, of Springboro, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Sycamore Medical Center. Ed was born in Chicago, IL on February 20, 1946 to the late John and Joan Doczy.

Ed graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Finance. He proudly served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge, Ed moved to St. Louis where he received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Washington University. In St. Louis, he was employed as Assistant V.P. at Boatman's Bank and then as the City of Clayton Finance Director and Deputy City Manager. He worked as City Manager in Gloucester City, NJ for a short time before moving to Springboro as City Manager from '94-2001. Ed and Bonnie have owned and operated Kids R Kids in Springboro from 2002 to the present.

Ed loved being in nature hiking in the woods and using his green thumb in his garden. He enjoyed wood carving, traveling and photography. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Jessica VerSteegt. Ed will be missed by his loving wife of 26 years, Bonnie Doczy; daughter, Larissa (Jason) Rook; son, Jordan (Sarah) Doczy; daughter, Samantha Doczy; granddaughters, Rosemary Rook and Madeline Doczy; step granddaughter, Amber (Chris) Brown and their daughter, Tallulah; siblings, John (Kathy) Doczy, Rita Heitzman, Dan (Kathy) Doczy, Tom Doczy, Joyce (Bill) Eitzen; many nieces and nepehws; father-in-law, Carroll VerSteegt and Larissa's mother, Ilamay Doczy.

Funeral services are Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at Anderson Funeral Homes, 40 North Main Street Springboro, OH with Pastor Terry Carlisle officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Burial Park, Hamilton. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 pm-7:30 pm at the funeral home.
