

Frances Farthing, age 75 of New Miami, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, July 22, 2012. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 3, 1937 the daughter of Bruce Lee and Nanny (Blanton) Stapleton. On January 15, 1954 in Hamilton she married Charles W. Farthing Sr. Frances enjoyed the outdoors, gospel music, cooking for her family, and gardening, especially tomatoes. She shared food with her neighborhood. A preparer, she always looked ahead and was the cornerstone of her family. She is survived by her seven children, Charles W. (Mary) Farthing Jr., Donald Bruce Farthing, Thomas Raymond Farthing, Sandra Jean (Herbert Eugene Durbin) Beverly, and Michael Scott Farthing all of New Miami, Joseph Lee (Denise) Farthing of Hamilton, and Brenda (the late Samuel Conrad) Owens of Hyden, Kentucky; the father of her children, Charles W. Farthing Sr.; grandchildren, Charles, Bruce, Mark, Cindy, Scott, Jessica, Billy, Dyland, and Daniel; several great-grandchildren; friends, Marion Cox and Darlene Pierson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters, Roy Stapleton, Donald Stapleton, Goldie Frances, May Grove, Thomas Stapleton, and Raymond Stapleton. Funeral services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Ave., Hamilton at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 25th with Rev. Frank Robinson and Brenda Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Frances’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to all of her caregivers for their kindness and concern.
