Garnett Barrett

Age 85 of Hamilton, passed away at her home on Friday, August 22, 2014. She was born in Ruggles, Kentucky on December 27, 1928 the daughter of James and Lizzie (Zornes) McCleese. On October 13, 1947 she married John L. Pink, who preceded her in death in May 1994. She later married Oscar Barrett who preceded her in death in 2005. Garnett worked as a waitress at Hyde’s Restaurant for over 25 years. She is survived by her children, Judy D. (Harry) Rose, Elizabeth L. (the late David) Milliman, John S. Pink II, and Jessie L.Matheny; foster children, Robert Wooden, Maria Hoskins, and Candice Pelfery; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jessie L. Brock; a niece, Sherry McCleese; and a special friend John W. Vinnedge. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, Dan and Kirby, and a great-grandaughter, Amanda Glenn. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Paducah Ave. Baptist Church, 6859 Paducah Ave., Hamilton, on Thursday August 28th at 7:00 PM with Pastor Dennis L. Betts officiating. A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 at the church. Garnett’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Cincinnati and special friend, Sue Scalf for their care and concern.
