Gerald Darnell McDaniel, age 78 of Hamilton passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Mercy Hospital Fairfield. He was born on September 2, 1942 in Corbin, KY, the son of the late Paul and Gertrude (Taylor) McDaniel. On December 26, 1961 in Corbin, KY, Gerald married his wife of 59 years, Ruth (Lawson) McDaniel. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Gerald is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Renee (Thomas) Huckleby, Jack (Sonia) McDaniel, and Danny McDaniel; grandchildren, Benny Kerr, Wes Kerr, Kayla McDaniel, Abby McDaniel, and Carter McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie McIntosh, Caroline Napier, Malyssa McDaniel, and Jodi Richardson; and sister, Anna Mae (Jim) Spear. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margie McDaniel; and grandson, Billy McDaniel. Cremation will take place and no services are scheduled at this time due to COVID.
