He was born on July 25, 1935, in Corbin, KY, to the late William B. Smith and Susie I. Teague. Gerald attended Middletown High School. He was self-employed for 55 years. Gerald loved to play bluegrass and gospel music. He is survived by his children Vanessa Niehaus, Valerie Smith, Todd Smith, and Tracy (April) Smith; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother Elmer Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 1pm until 2pm, with a Memorial Service to follow, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1770 Eaton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45013. Donations and flowers may be delivered to the Rose Hill Funeral Home.
