Mrs. Glenna Rae Cupp
January 13, 1944 – November 3, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Glenna Rae Cupp announce her passing after bravely battling illness for the last several years. Glenna was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio and was the second daughter to William and Mary Haven. While in middle school, she met the love of her life – Elmer Cupp. They began dating and dated all through high school. Elmer graduated 2 years ahead of her and joined the Navy.
They married in 1963, divorced in 1964 and (thankfully for their kids and grandkids) remarried a year later in 1965 and remained by each other's side for 53 years. Elmer was a devoted husband who cared for her through all of her illnesses. In 1967, they welcomed their daughter, Melissa (Cupp) Beall and in 1970, their son William (Andy) Cupp. She was the most amazing Mom to her two kids, but also to everyone in the neighborhood. She was a Brownie Troop Leader, member of Lindenwald baseball board, statistician for Lindenwald baseball, Melissa and Andy's Room Mothers, Slumber-Party mom, and pre-school teacher’s aide at St. Mary (St. Julie Billiart) for 11 years.
In 1991, she was devastated when her first grandchild – William Aaron Cupp passed away at the age of only 9 weeks from SIDS. In 1995, she was over-joyed to welcome her first granddaughter - Anna Christine Bunting and in 1998 again with the birth of her second granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Bunting. In 2012, she gained a son-in law and and another granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Beall. She was a frequent volunteer at her granddaughters' school – Hayes Elementary where she would read to children weekly.
Her love of children was apparent to everyone who met her. After they arrived, her grandchildren were the center of her world. She and Elmer were at all show-choir competitions, volleyball games and school functions where her granddaughters were involved. She battled many health issues with the strength and determination very few people have or have ever seen. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 29, having multiple reconstructive surgeries to keep her mobile and later in life she struggled with Alzheimer's. Her strength was even visible her last day, as she fought so hard to stay with her family.
Glenna is survived by her husband of 53 years, Elmer Gene Cupp, her daughter Melissa Beall (Scott), her son William Andrew Cupp (Shannon Raquet), her granddaughters - Anna, Mary and Sarah, sisters Tari Bunting (Terry) and Cheryl Mishos (Simon), cousin Sandee Berlepsch (Doug), special dog Charlotte Rae and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence (Bill) Haven, her mother, Mary Schlotterbeck, her step-father Dick Schlotterbeck, her brother, William Scott Haven, and her grandson, William Aaron Cupp. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, November 11, 2018 beginning at 12NOON at the Rose Hill Funeral Home and Burial Park, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011. The memorial service will be immediately after visitation at 1:00PM. Burial will take place Monday with immediate family.
